Twitch to Host Charity Event in Support of COVID-19 Relief

Twitch Organizes 12-hour Charity Stream Featuring Celebrities to Support COVID-19 Relief

In an effort to contribute to the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Twitch is hosting a 12-hour charity stream this weekend. The stream will showcase various mainstream celebrities from the gaming, music, and sports industries.

Twitch Charity Stream Schedule

The charity stream will commence on Saturday, March 28 at 11am CT. The official Twitch channel will feature gaming tournaments for popular titles like Fortnite and UNO. Meanwhile, another channel called Twitch Rivals will also host tournaments for these games.

Twitch Stream Aid – COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

The purpose of this charity stream is to generate donations for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund by the World Health Organization. Twitch aims to make a positive impact on the ongoing crisis by encouraging viewers to contribute to this cause.

Star-Studded Lineup

The main Twitch channel will primarily focus on musical performances, featuring renowned artists like Steve Aoki, Sam Harris, Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), Jeremiah Fraites (The Lumineers), Luke Steele (Empire of the Sun), Dan Smith (Bastille), and Jordin Sparks. Additionally, influential athletes like Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Aly Raisman and Australian professional golfer Greg Norman will also be part of the event.

Last week, Facebook Gaming organized a similar event to support COVID-19 relief efforts. However, Twitch’s charity stream stands out because it is directly organized by Twitch itself and will feature high-profile celebrities from various fields.
