Twitch suspends SoundCloud usage on its platform

Popular Music Streaming Service SoundCloud Receives First Ban on Twitch

SoundCloud, a widely-used music streaming service, has encountered its first ban on Twitch, a popular streaming platform for gamers.

Details of the Ban

The ban on SoundCloud was reported by Twitter account StreamerBans, but neither Twitch nor SoundCloud have provided any specific information regarding the ban.

Possible Reason for the Ban

Though no official announcements have been made, some Twitter users speculate that the ban may be related to copyright issues. SoundCloud often plays music from various artists on its platform, and Twitch has recently been more stringent in enforcing the use of copyrighted music by streamers.

Partnership Between SoundCloud and Twitch

SoundCloud and Twitch recently collaborated to provide SoundCloud premium members with a faster path to monetization on Twitch. This partnership allowed these members to automatically gain Affiliate status on Twitch, enabling them to earn money through subscriptions, bits, and game sales.

Update Regarding the Ban

According to esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, a representative from Twitch has disclosed that the temporary ban on SoundCloud was imposed due to “sexually suggestive content and violations of our (Twitch) nudity policy.”

We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
