Twitch streamer eRobb faces chat mayhem as accidental mod ban unleashes chaos

Twitch Streamer Gives Chat Control, Chaos Ensues

Popular Twitch streamer erobb221 recently decided to let his chat have some control over his livestream on June 30. Little did he know, things would quickly spiral out of control, resulting in the temporary banning of several channel moderators.

During the stream, erobb enabled a channel point reward that allowed chat users to timeout any follower of the stream after spending their channel points. However, the streamer was not prepared for how the chat would abuse this feature. They ended up banning all of the channel moderators for a hefty 10-minute timeout.

“Bro, they actually all got fucking timed out,” erobb exclaimed. “I didn’t think about this happening.”

It’s unclear whether erobb was simply trolling or genuinely didn’t consider this possibility. Regardless, his reaction suggests he was unaware of the power he had given to his chat and their ability to timeout the moderators.

The chaos did not end there. Chat users were also given the ability to turn off erobb’s primary monitor for a few seconds. During a game of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, users spammed this option, causing erobb to plummet to last place. The stream became unplayable, and erobb had to disable this feature.

Despite the chaos, erobb seemed to find it all worth it. Clips from the stream went viral on the LivestreamFail subreddit, and fans loved erobb’s reactions. “I love it when people come up with creative ways to use channel points,” one user commented.

However, erobb has not streamed again since then and is unlikely to give as much control to his chat in the future.
