Twitch partners to experience ad-free streaming

Twitch Partners to Receive New Ad Perk

Twitch Partners will soon be granted a new perk that eliminates the requirement for them to watch ads on most broadcasts. This exciting update was shared on the Twitch Partner Discord channel, where a moderator revealed that the feature had been quietly in the works.

Details Shared on Partner Discord

Additional details about the ad perk were posted on the Partner Discord, and a wider announcement is expected to be made soon, as stated by Zach Bussey on Twitter.

Turbo Subscription Benefit for Partnered Streamers

This new perk allows Twitch Partners to freely switch between streams without being subjected to ads before or during the broadcasts. Essentially, Twitch is extending one of the benefits of Turbo subscriptions to its partnered streamers.

The new feature covers both pre-roll and mid-roll ads on regular streams, with some exceptions for sponsored or partnered broadcasts involving brands like the NFL, as mentioned by streamer Zach Bussey.

Increase Raiding Functionality

According to esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, a spokesperson from Twitch confirmed that this ad perk will only affect Partners and not Affiliates. The purpose of implementing this feature is to enhance raiding other channels.

“We want to make raiding as easy as possible and have functionality in place that pauses ads for partners to make it easier for them to find channels to raid,” stated the Twitch spokesperson in response to Slasher on Twitter.

No Impact on Viewers, Turbo Subscription Still Necessary

It’s important to note that these changes will not affect how regular viewers receive ads. To avoid ads on the platform, viewers will still need to have a Turbo subscription or be subscribers to specific channels.

Twitch will release an official announcement with more details in the near future.
