Twitch Joins Pride Month Celebrations with Fresh Emotes, Live Performances, and More

Twitch Celebrates Pride Month with Exciting Features

In anticipation of Pride Month, Twitch has announced a range of exciting features that will be available on the streaming platform throughout June.

Special Lineup of LGBTQIA+ Streamers

Throughout the month, Twitch will showcase a lineup of talented LGBTQIA+ streamers on its homepage. This initiative aims to highlight and celebrate their contributions to the gaming community.

Streaming the 50th San Francisco Pride Virtually

Twitch will also be streaming the 50th San Francisco Pride, one of the largest celebrations for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies. Due to the current pandemic, the event has gone virtual and will feature live and prerecorded performances on June 27 and 28.

Earn Themed Emotes

Viewers will have the opportunity to earn special themed emotes throughout June. By subscribing, gifting a sub, or cheering at least 300 bits across all channels, viewers can obtain these Pride-themed emotes to keep forever.

Supporting The Trevor Project

Twitch has also partnered with The Trevor Project, the largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youths. For every paid sub, gifted sub, or cheer of 300 bits or more, Twitch will donate $0.10 to The Trevor Project, with a maximum total donation of $300,000 by the end of June.

Note: The production of Twitch Pride T-shirts has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, a Pride-themed gift card is available for those who want to show their pride or gift it to others.

Additionally, Twitch Prime users will have access to Dream Daddy, an unconventional dating simulator where players can date individuals known as “dream daddies.” This game will be available for Twitch Prime users starting on June 5.
