Twitch introduces new badge to honor emote artists

Twitch Introduces New Emote Artist Badge for Streamers

Twitch is adding a special badge for emote artists, allowing streamers to show gratitude to their favorite artists. The badge, which is blue and white and features a painter’s palette with a paintbrush, will likely have limited slots. Streamers will be able to manually assign the badge to their emote artists.

The Request of Creators

Creators on Twitch have been requesting a way to thank their channel and emote artists for years. One of the top badge suggestions on Twitch’s user feedback site since 2017 is for the creation of a “paintbrush badge” specifically for emote artists. It appears that Twitch may have finally taken notice.

Based on a suggestion by T1Appalled, Twitch users have expressed the desire for emote artists to receive recognition for their contributions to the Twitch community. They propose a “Global Paintbrush Badge” as a symbol of appreciation for their hard work in creating emotes.

Verified Emote Artists

Some users have suggested that established emote artists who have worked on more than 50 channels could receive a “verified” version of the paintbrush badge to distinguish their status. However, Twitch’s version of the badge does not currently incorporate any verification or special status for emote artists who have worked on multiple channels.

A Welcomed Addition for Streamers

Twitch’s forthcoming paintbrush badge will allow streamers to give their emote artists a special badge, although it is unclear whether it will be available for all channels or only for Twitch partners and affiliates. While it may be a simplified version of the initial idea, the badge is still a welcomed addition for streamers to acknowledge and appreciate their emote artists.

Similar to previous community suggestions that became part of the platform, such as the loyalty system and channel points, Twitch continues to listen and implement ideas proposed by its users.

For now, streamers express their gratitude toward emote artists by giving them credit on their channel pages. The release date for the new emote artist badge on Twitch is currently unknown.
