Twitch introduces a fresh feature allowing users to submit requests for unbanning

Twitch Introduces Feature to Allow Banned Users to Appeal Moderators

Twitch streamers now have a new tool to manage ban appeals directly on the platform. Previously, banned users would have to reach out to streamers via separate social media platforms or accounts to plead their case.

But now, Twitch has introduced a new feature that enables banned users to petition moderators in the chat itself.

The new widget is available in Mod View, allowing moderators to access a list of users requesting an unban. It provides a platform for banned users to provide context and explain why they believe the punishment was unwarranted. Users can submit a ban appeal through the chat column, but they are only allowed one appeal.

Opinions on this new feature vary. Some users question the need to unban someone they had previously banned, while others express concerns about giving banned users another avenue to harass moderators.

However, some users have expressed their appreciation for this feature, emphasizing that it could potentially reduce the spam streamers receive in their private messages from users requesting unbans.

Twitch plans to roll out this feature to mobile devices in the near future.
