Twitch introduces a Founders Badge for its early subscribers

Twitch Introduces Founders Badge for Early Subscribers of New Channels

Twitch has come up with a fresh approach to encourage subscriptions by introducing the Founders Badge. This exclusive badge will be available to the first subscribers of newly-affiliated and partnered channels.

If you are one of the first 10 subscribers for an affiliated streamer or one of the first 25 for a partnered channel, you will be able to unlock this special badge. However, please note that only paid and Prime subscribers are eligible for the badge, and gifted subscriptions do not qualify.

Recognizing and Supporting Emerging Streamers

The main purpose of the Founders Badge is to promote and support emerging streamers by providing additional benefits to early subscribers. While partnered streamers already have a well-established community, recently-affiliated channels usually have a smaller audience. To become affiliated, streamers only need 500 minutes of monthly broadcast, 50 followers, and an average of three viewers.

In addition, early subscribers will also receive the Founders Badge retroactively, allowing long-established streamers to easily identify and acknowledge their first subscribers. By displaying this unique icon, badge owners can stand out in large communities such as those of prominent streamers like Shroud or DrDisrespect.

Driving Subscriptions Through Badge Recognition

This new feature also serves as another way to drive subscriptions. If a viewer is eligible for a Founders Badge but is currently unsubscribed, Twitch suggests resubscribing to unlock the badge.

To check if you are eligible to receive a Founders Badge, simply access your notifications on Twitch.
