Twitch Implements Enhanced Policies to Combat Hateful Conduct and Harassment

Twitch Updates “Hateful Conduct and Harassment” Policies to Foster Inclusivity

Twitch announced that it will be updating its “Hateful Conduct and Harassment” policies to create a more inclusive and safer environment for its streaming platform.

These new policies, effective from January 22, 2021, provide detailed explanations of what constitutes prohibited behavior in terms of hateful conduct and harassment.

To allow sufficient time for users to review, ask questions, and provide feedback, Twitch is sharing the policy well in advance before it is implemented.

The new policies on Twitch encompass various examples of unacceptable behavior, including threats of violence and the creation of accounts dedicated to hate with abusive usernames.

Moreover, the policy explicitly outlines instances of harassment, such as wishing harm on someone or engaging in stalking. Additionally, it prohibits unsolicited sexual advances and other forms of sexual harassment.

Twitch is also hosting a Creator Camp livestream on Friday, December 11 at 12pm CT to introduce and discuss the new policy, as well as address any queries in preparation for its implementation.
