Twitch Explores Adjustments to Multistreaming Guidelines for Ninja, Suggesting a Shift in Attitude towards Competitors

Twitch Allows Streamer Ninja to Simultaneously Livestream on Multiple Platforms

In a recent broadcast, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy confirmed that streamer Ninja has been given permission to livestream on multiple platforms simultaneously. Clancy also mentioned that the company is working on adjusting its simulcasting policy to accommodate this.

Working Towards a Multistreaming Solution

Clancy stated, “We’re still working through the right way to handle in terms of permission to multistreaming.” He acknowledged that there are several factors to consider and that Twitch is actively figuring out how to address them.

Ninja is the first streamer on Twitch to receive this individual authorization, as specified in the platform’s Terms of Service, according to streaming expert Zach Bussey.

Twitch’s Terms of Service mention the “Simulcasting” category, where streamers must obtain written permission from Twitch to broadcast simultaneously on platforms similar to Twitch. However, this requirement does not apply to mobile-first services like TikTok.

In addition to Twitch, Ninja also streams on YouTube (with written permission) and TikTok, making him present on multiple major streaming platforms.

It is worth noting that Twitch’s approach of granting more freedom to its users by allowing multistreaming may be a departure from its previous policy of retaining its audience.
