Trainwreckstv on Greekgodx ban: “No issue with holding the opinion that there are only two genders”

Greekgodx Banned on Twitch: Trainwreckstv Weighs In

Twitch streamer Dimitri “Greekgodx” Antonatos received a ban on Twitch today, and fellow streamer Trainwreckstv believes he knows the reason behind it.

Greekgodx made controversial remarks during a recent stream, stating that Soundcloud should not allow individuals who choose “other” as their gender to create an account. Trainwreckstv addressed the ban on his own stream, claiming that Greekgodx was not banned for his opinion on gender, but rather because he did not respect the opinions of others.

According to Trainwreckstv, “There’s nothing wrong if you have an opinion that there’s only two genders. What they banned him for was he said ‘if you click ‘other’ than you shouldn’t be able to use [Soundcloud],’ right…and they probably used the excuse of ‘intention versus effect.’ If you want your opinion to be appreciated, you have to appreciate the opinion of someone else.”

Trainwreckstv believes that simply stating an opinion that there are only two genders is not enough for Twitch to issue a suspension. He argues that the platform would consider Greekgodx’s comments on gender to have the intent to harm others, which is likely why the suspension was imposed.

Twitch’s Community Guidelines explicitly prohibit any form of hateful conduct that encourages discrimination based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and more.

Greekgodx has since apologized for his comments in a tweet, stating that his remarks were meant to be a joke and that he did not intend to hurt or offend anyone.

The duration of Greekgodx’s ban is unknown, but he has promised to inform his fans once he finds out.
