Trainwreck: Twitch ban has no relation to gambling

Twitch streamer Trainwreck accuses platform of targeting him with gambling ban

Twitch streamer Trainwreck has claimed that Twitch’s recent ban on certain forms of gambling and specific websites is not motivated by the platform’s stance on gambling, but rather by Twitch’s alleged dislike of the streamer himself.

Twitch recently addressed the issue of gambling on their platform after facing months of controversy. The streaming platform officially banned certain types of gambling, such as slots, roulette, and dice games, as well as naming several well-known gambling websites that are now prohibited.

Trainwreck, who is the most popular gambling streamer on Twitch, immediately criticized the platform for what he sees as “double standards” in their approach to gambling. He specifically pointed out that sports betting is allowed on Twitch due to the platform’s contract with the NFL and DraftKings, which allows them to stream Thursday Night Football.

During a recent broadcast on October 25, Trainwreck suggested that Twitch’s ban on gambling content has nothing to do with the act of gambling itself, but rather with the platform’s supposed vendetta against him.

According to Trainwreck, “This has nothing to do with gambling. This has to do with Trainwreckstv. If all your arguments are consistent with this just being a gambling thing, then why does what I make or my contract have to do with that?”

Despite defending his contract with a gambling sponsor and discouraging viewers from gambling, Trainwreck has been forced to suspend gambling content for the foreseeable future. He has since mentioned plans to create a new streaming platform.

The future of Trainwreck on Twitch remains uncertain.
