Trainwreck collaborates with Rise Above the Disorder to offer complimentary therapy sessions to Twitch audience

Streamer Trainwreckstv Partners with Rise Above the Disorder to Provide Free Online Therapy

Trainwreckstv, a popular streamer, has joined forces with non-profit mental health care organization Rise Above the Disorder in an initiative to offer free online therapy to creators and streamers on platforms like Twitch and YouTube, as well as their wider communities.

In a statement shared on July 18, Trainwreck announced his donation of $350,000 to the campaign, which will provide approximately 12,000 therapy sessions to his Twitch streaming community.

Trainwreck is the first creator to collaborate with Rise Above the Disorder in this endeavor.

Community Care Program: Providing Free Therapy to Creators’ Communities

Rise Above the Disorder tweeted about the Community Care Program, stating that it aims to eliminate the barriers of cost and accessibility to therapy for creators and their communities. The program focuses on helping people start therapy with licensed mental health professionals who use empirically researched methods.

According to the statement, therapy is the most effective way to address mental health issues, but the difficulty of finding a therapist or affording therapy has been a significant obstacle. Rise Above the Disorder aims to remove this barrier entirely.

Getting Involved and Accessing the Free Therapy

The RATD statement outlines how other streamers can participate in providing free therapy to their communities. Creators can either donate or fundraise money that will be used by their community to access therapy sessions.

To request a free therapy session, individuals can use a Discord bot to privately connect with a mental health professional from Rise Above the Disorder. The bot will provide a link to a scheduling platform where users can book a convenient session time.

The statement assures users that creators funding the program will not have access to any clinical or personal information that could identify someone using the service.

Administrative Fee for Creators Supporting the Program

Creators who participate in providing this service to their communities will need to pay a separate administrator fee to support the involvement of RATD mental health professionals. The cost of the fee will be determined based on the creator’s metrics.

If you are seeking further information about the service and its functionality, you can find the FAQ section at the bottom of the statement here.
