TimTheTatman streams upcoming Pete Davidson movie, The King of Staten Island, as a sponsor.

TimTheTatman Promotes Pete Davidson’s New Movie on Sponsored Stream

Popular streamer TimTheTatman did something a little different on his sponsored stream today. Instead of playing a game, he took the opportunity to promote Pete Davidson’s new movie, The King of Staten Island.

Typically, streamers get sponsored to play specific games, so it’s rare for a content creator to be enlisted to promote a movie.

During the stream, Tim added the #ad and the movie’s name to his stream title, but other than that, he went about his usual business. Instead of joking around with his friends or chat in between rounds of Call of Duty: Warzone, Tim showed viewers behind-the-scenes clips and talked about the movie. The movie is set to release on Friday, June 12, on demand instead of in theaters due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

TimTheTatman’s Movie Promotion Stream

From 2pm to 4pm CT, Tim played various clips from the movie, providing his audience with an exclusive look. He mentioned that he had seen the movie early as part of the promotion, but refrained from spoiling any details. The King of Staten Island is a semi-autobiographical story about Pete Davidson, who grew up in Staten Island and lost his father during 9/11.

Special Prizes and Advertisements

In addition to showing behind-the-scenes content, Tim had a poster advertisement for the movie displayed during his stream. His lead moderator also handed out 15 codes, giving viewers a chance to access the movie for free once it is released. Tim’s channel also features a poster advertisement in the main panel below his broadcasts.

Non-Endemic Advertisements and Viewership

This is not TimTheTatman’s first experience with non-endemic advertisements. He previously appeared in the NFL’s Super Bowl commercial and has worked with companies like Hershey’s in the past. On today’s sponsored stream, Tim averaged 29,790 viewers, with a peak of 37,283. The stream maintained an average of over 31,000 viewers during the last two hours.
