TimTheTatman requests Activision to eliminate his personal CoD package as a gesture of support towards NICKMERCS.

Popular Streamer TimTheTatman Shows Support for NICKMERCS After Controversial Comments

Well-known Call of Duty streamer TimTheTatman is standing by content creator NICKMERCS amid backlash over his controversial anti-LGBTQ+ comments. In response, Activision removed NICKMERCS’ purchasable Operator bundle from the game’s store on June 7.

Other high-profile figures have also voiced their opinions on the matter, with Dr Disrespect uninstalling and boycotting the game after Activision’s decision. Now, TimTheTatman is joining forces with NICKMERCS and has requested that Activision also remove his Operator bundle from the Call of Duty store.

Tim opened his June 9 stream with a statement about NICKMERCS, expressing his love for his friend and believing that NICKMERCS didn’t intend to harm anyone with his words.

However, in a tweet on June 10, Tim publicly declared his support for his friend of many years and admitted that it was unfair for him to have his Operator bundle while NICKMERCS no longer had his. Tim then urged Activision to remove the TimTheTatman bundle from the Call of Duty store.

.@NICKMERCS has been my friend for years- we went in getting our CoD operators together.

It feels wrong for me to have mine and him no longer have his. In support of my friend, please remove the timthetatman bundle

As of now, Activision has not removed the TimTheTatman Operator bundle from the Call of Duty store.

Both NICKMERCS and TimTheTatman are the most popular Call of Duty streamers on Twitch and YouTube, with NICKMERCS’ recent stream averaging almost 14,000 viewers according to TwitchTracker, and TimTheTatman’s YouTube channel close to reaching five million subscribers.

The Call of Duty community remains divided over the incident. NICKMERCS tweeted his thoughts on an incident in California earlier this week, where anti-LGBTQ+ protestors and pro-LGBTQ+ demonstrators clashed over a school vote on whether to recognize June as Pride Month.

NICKMERCS further explained his stance during a stream, emphasizing that his comments were not purely anti-LGBTQ+. However, he believed that discussions about such topics should take place at home with parents, rather than in the classroom with teachers. Nevertheless, many members of the community remained unconvinced.

The stance taken by NICKMERCS, as well as Activision’s decision to remove his creator bundle from the store, has sparked outrage and divided fans regarding both the political issue and Activision’s punishment.

It remains uncertain whether Activision will comply with TimTheTatman’s request to remove one of their most popular products from the store. This decision could potentially impact their profits, leading us to question the future of the creator skin program for Call of Duty.

It is possible that this incident will result in changes or the complete removal of the creator program.
