Twitch Streamer Bans: The Biggest Suspensions in History

Twitch, the popular live-streaming platform, has had its fair share of streamer bans over the years. Donald Trump

In early 2021, even former U.S. President Donald Trump fell victim to the Twitch ban hammer. After having his account suspended for hateful conduct, Twitch decided to give him a permanent ban. This suspension was a response to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which led to bans from multiple platforms, including Twitter. Trump’s ban stands out due to the public attention it received.

ZilianOP, a popular World of Warcraft streamer in 2013, caused quite a stir when he was caught deceiving his viewers. Known for being paralyzed from the waist down, Zilian was seen standing up and walking away during a livestream, leaving his empty wheelchair in front of the camera. This deception was made worse by the fact that he had raised money from his viewers by leveraging his disability. After being called out, he was banned from Twitch and disappeared from the internet for a while.

Ice Poseidon

Ice Poseidon, a controversial Twitch streamer, found himself in hot water when he was falsely accused of making a bomb threat. After livestreaming at an airport, someone obtained his information and called in the threat. Twitch decided to permanently ban him without providing a specific reason. Despite his ban, Ice Poseidon continued streaming on YouTube and grew his audience even further.

In a unique case, Phantoml0rd fought back against Twitch’s ban. The streamer was banned for misleading his viewers about his involvement in CS:GO skin gambling. Twitch removed his channel from the platform, and he decided to take legal action against the company, claiming that the ban caused severe financial damage and misrepresented his character. Ultimately, Phantoml0rd won his case and was awarded nearly $21,000.

Destiny

Destiny, a political commentator and variety streamer, saw his Twitch account permanently banned after featuring banned figures on his stream. One notable guest was Nick Fuentes, a white supremacist who had been banned from multiple social media platforms. While the exact reason for Destiny’s ban remains undisclosed, he has continued his career by exclusively streaming on YouTube.

Dr Disrespect

Dr Disrespect, once a prominent face on Twitch, received a permanent ban without any public explanation. The mystery surrounding his ban led to immense speculation and numerous theories. Adin Ross, a popular streamer, received his eighth and final ban from Twitch due to a lack of chat moderation. Twitch cited unmoderated hateful conduct in the chat as the reason for the ban.
