Summit1g refuses to play Overwatch due to shields

Summit1g Shares Thoughts on Shields in Shooters

Summit1g, a well-known gamer and former professional CS:GO player, recently discussed the use of shields in first-person shooting games during a Twitch stream.

When asked about his readiness for Doom Eternal, which is set to release this year, Summit1g expressed his confidence.

“Do I have what it takes?” he said. “I can play every shooting game in existence and bring what it takes, except for Overwatch because, you know, I don’t like shields.”

This statement sparked further discussion about the first-person shooter genre. Summit1g took a moment to reflect on his own comment before sharing his viewers’ opinions.

“Here me out here, Counter-Strike comes out with riot shields, nobody likes them, they’re dumb,” he stated.

“Who likes the shield guys in Rainbow Six? Nobody. If you play Overwatch and enjoy FPS games like Mcree, who do you not like? The dumbass Reinhardt and all the dumbass shields that come with it. You know what I’m saying?”

In 2019 alone, Summit1g streamed in 41 different categories, including various shooters such as Escape from Tarkov, CS:GO, Apex Legends, and Halo. However, Overwatch was notably absent from his list of games played.

Summit1g explained that he hasn’t played Overwatch in a long time due to his dislike of shields, which he finds frustrating.
