Streaming on Facebook Gaming: A Guide

How to Stream on Facebook Gaming

Facebook Gaming may not be as popular as Twitch, but it’s experiencing significant growth in terms of hours watched. According to a report, the platform has seen a 100% year-over-year increase in hours watched through November.

For those who find the idea of competing with countless personalities on Twitch overwhelming, Facebook Gaming is a great alternative.

If you want to start streaming on Facebook Gaming, the process is quite simple.

First, log into your personal Facebook account and navigate to the “Gaming Page Creator.” From there, you can create a name for your game streaming page and customize it by uploading profile pictures and adjusting its aesthetics.

Once your page is set up to reflect your brand, you’ll need to set up broadcasting software like OBS or Streamlabs and connect it to your Facebook account, just like you would on Twitch.

Next, visit Facebook’s Creator Portal and click the “Create Live Stream” button.

To stream on Facebook Gaming, go to the “Post” tab on the left side of the screen and select “post to page you manage.” Then, choose your Gaming Page from the drop-down menu.

Copy your Stream Key or Server URL and use it to connect your broadcasting software to your Facebook page.

Finally, add a title and short description to your stream, and tag the game you’ll be playing. Once you’ve completed these steps, the grayed-out “Go Live” button in the bottom left corner of the screen will become active, allowing you to start your broadcast.
