Streamer Dellor confirms permanent ban from Twitch due to “self harm” incident

Former Overwatch Pro Dellor Banned by Twitch for “Self Harm”

Popular streamer and former Overwatch pro, Matt “Dellor” Vaughn, recently announced on Twitter that he has been indefinitely banned from Twitch for an incident involving “self harm.”

Clipped Banned Incident: Breaking Keyboard Over Head

The ban was reportedly issued due to a clip in which Dellor broke a keyboard over his head while playing Apex Legends. Dellor claims that he has done similar stunts multiple times in the past without being banned or receiving any warnings.

Dellor’s Response

Dellor took to Twitter to express his frustration, stating, “They considered me breaking a keyboard over my head as self harm. I’ve done this hundreds of times on my stream. I took precautions to ensure my safety by using a cheap, flimsy keyboard that would easily break. My intention was never to harm myself, but to entertain my fans.”

Past Controversies and Permanently Banned

This is not the first time Dellor has faced consequences for his behavior. In 2017, he was dropped from the Toronto Esports organization after using racial slurs multiple times towards a player. Earlier this year, he was temporarily banned from Twitch for making derogatory comments towards a female player. Due to these past incidents, Twitch has informed Dellor that his ban is permanent.

Following the initial suspension, Dellor sought help for his mental health by admitting himself into a psychiatric facility. He received treatment, medication, and therapy, which he claims have had a positive impact on his well-being.

Support from the Gaming Community

Despite the ban, Dellor has received an outpouring of support from fellow gamers, including Fortnite star Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and League of Legends streamer Ashkan “TF Blade” Homayouni.

Next Steps for Dellor

It remains uncertain what Dellor’s next steps will be. With Twitch no longer an option, there is speculation that he may join Ninja on the rival streaming platform, Mixer.
