Streamer banned for 2 weeks after broadcasting in the TwitchCon partner lounge

Twitch Streamer NymN Temporarily Banned from Platform

Twitch streamer NymN received a two-week ban from the platform for streaming in the partner lounge at TwitchCon. According to NymN, he was streaming while accompanying Félix “xQc” Lengyel to his meet and greet. NymN admitted that he was not paying attention to where he was pointing the camera due to the stress of the situation.

Although NymN acknowledges his mistake, he believes that the ban is too long, especially since he has never been banned before. He plans to appeal the suspension.

What sets NymN’s ban apart from recent controversial bans is that Twitch CEO Emmett Shear mentioned that the platform considers “context and intent” when enforcing its Community Guidelines.

While it is possible for a streamer to intentionally and knowingly stream in the partner lounge, NymN’s incident appears to be unintentional. Instead, NymN was assisting Twitch by helping one of its most popular streamers interact with fans.

Update: Twitch Reduces NymN’s Suspension

Twitch has amended NymN’s suspension from 14 days to seven days, according to NymN.
