StreamElements Introduces Mercury, Innovative Dynamic Tools for On-Demand Content Creators

StreamElements Introduces Mercury: New Tools to Boost Engagement for Content Creators on YouTube

StreamElements, the leading streaming and content service provider, is expanding its offerings with the launch of Mercury. This suite of tools is designed to enhance the experience of content creators by adding live engagement functionality to their video-on-demand (VOD) content on platforms like YouTube.

Previously, StreamElements focused on developing engagement and monetization tools for live and VOD content creators. However, Mercury marks a significant step forward as the platform introduces specialized tools for creators who primarily produce pre-recorded content.

According to Sergey Bukhman, the product manager for Mercury, the goal is to tap into the excitement that fans associate with live content and translate it into more engaging pre-produced videos. By offering dynamic descriptions, thumbnails, shout-out overlays, and polls, creators can expect increased viewer engagement, retention, and growth. In fact, creators who have used Mercury have seen an average increase of 60% in engagement, reinforcing its value as a compelling addition to video on-demand production.

Dynamic Descriptions: Unlocking New Possibilities

The most robust feature available with Mercury’s launch is Dynamic Descriptions. With just one click, creators can add several options to their video descriptions. These options include spotlighting and automatically thanking supporters like the newest subscribers, members, Patreon backers, and more. It also enables setting real-time goals and polls, providing the community with live updates on results and merchandise sales, fostering greater engagement.

Enhancing Thumbnails and Shoutouts

Mercury’s Dynamic Thumbnails feature allows creators to update their video’s primary image with new elements, including live data updates. Additionally, On-Screen Shoutouts enable users to thank supporters in real-time within their videos, eliminating the need for manual wall-of-text scrolling. This dynamic feature highlights subscribers, members, Patreon backers, and more, with live updates.

Expanding Engagement for YouTube Creators

All these features are available free of charge to creators, as StreamElements aims to expand its presence in VOD content creation on YouTube, which boasts over 2 billion monthly users. StreamElements CBO Jason Krebs acknowledges that YouTube is the largest video-on-demand platform globally, making it an excellent platform for creators to connect with their communities. The company plans to continuously update Mercury, introducing more features such as widgets, analytics, banners, and additional monetization options. The ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between engagement for live and VOD content.
