Step-by-Step Guide: Banning Users on Twitch

How to Moderate Your Twitch Channel Chat

Moderating your Twitch channel’s chat is crucial for maintaining a certain standard in your community.

Streamers have different preferences when it comes to chat moderation. Some enjoy a lively chat, while others prefer a more organized environment and employ multiple moderators.

One of the most effective tools at your disposal as a streamer or moderator is the ability to ban users from the chat. This action is typically reserved for severe offenses, such as the use of vulgar or hateful language.

To quickly ban a user in a chatroom, there are a couple of methods you can use.

The first and easiest way is to type “/ban” followed by the username of the person you want to ban.

Alternatively, you can click on a user’s username in the chat. This will display their account information, including how long they’ve followed or subscribed to you. It also allows you to ban them.
