Spanish participants in Twitch Rivals Rust event face criticism from streamers

The Rust Twitch Rivals Event Takes an Unfortunate Turn

The Rust Twitch Rivals event was meant to be a fun competition between North American and Spanish/Latin American streamers. However, things took a negative turn when several Spanish-speaking streamers decided to quit the event early, leaving the NA streamers feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Mendo Speaks Out Against the Behavior of Spanish Streamers

One of the prominent streamers, Mendo, openly criticized the Spanish streamers for their actions. He called their behavior spineless and childish, expressing his disbelief that grown adults would treat others this way.

Racism and Offenses Experienced by NA Streamers

Mendo explained that he and his fellow NA streamers had to endure racism and offensive comments from viewers of some of the top Spanish streamers who joined their Twitch chats.

The Fallout and Reactions from Other Streamers

Well-known streamers like Shroud and XQc also shared their thoughts on the situation. Shroud speculated that the Spanish streamers who quit the event might not be invited to future events hosted by Twitch due to the negative impact of their actions. XQc criticized their decision to withdraw, highlighting that opposing teams could take advantage of the time differences to gain an advantage while the NA streamers were sleeping.

DisguisedToast, who initially approached Twitch about the event, expressed his disappointment. He emphasized that streamers are fortunate to be in their positions and wished viewers had the opportunity to witness the planned exciting finale of the Rust event.

Ambitions for Future Twitch Rivals Events

Despite the controversy surrounding the Rust Twitch Rivals event, DisguisedToast remains hopeful about organizing more Twitch Rivals events in the future.
