Sonic Origins: Sega Announces Year-Long Partnership with VTuber Inugami Korone
Sega has announced a year-long partnership with VTuber Inugami Korone during a livestream ahead of the launch of Sonic Origins.
Details of the partnership are still forthcoming, but there are already several collaborations in the works. Korone will be providing voice-over talent for the Japanese dub of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, set to release on August 19 in Japan.

During the livestream, Korone debuted a new Sonic-themed outfit.
Sonic’s Venture into the Vtuber Realm
This is not the first foray into the world of VTubers for Sega’s iconic blue hedgehog. Last year, Sonic became a VTuber for a special stream as part of the 30th-anniversary celebration. Following that, Tails joined the VTuber trend with TailsTube in March of this year.
Sonic Origins Release and Upcoming Games
Sonic Origins, a collection of classic Sonic games including Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD, was released on June 22. The game is available on Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). In addition to Sonic Origins, Sonic Frontiers, an open-world game, is expected to be released in the latter half of 2022.
