Sodapoppin Returning to Twitch Soon Following Break to Play WoW Classic

Sodapoppin Considering a Return to Streaming Sooner Than Expected

Sodapoppin, one of Twitch’s most-watched influencers, took a break from streaming due to his negative experience with stream sniping in WoW Classic. However, he recently hinted at a possible return to streaming sooner than he originally planned.

A Twitter Announcement Sparks Speculation

Sodapoppin’s tweet stating, “I’m craving streaming again. Might be back sooner than expected,” suggests that he may be ready to return to the streaming scene sooner than anticipated.

The Break for PvP Ranking

Prior to December, Sodapoppin announced that he would be taking a break from streaming to focus on ranking up in the PvP system of WoW Classic. Reaching the highest ranking, 14, requires players to continuously grind PvP content until February.

Sodapoppin explained, “I am not really streaming for a while because I’m trying to grind rank 14. Streaming it is really boring and only makes it more difficult, and Classic WoW people hate streaming, so I just don’t want to go live doing it. Maybe BGs, but that’s where I am at the moment.”

Preference for Capture the Flag Instance

When battlegrounds were released two weeks ago, streamers embarked on the PvP grind. Sodapoppin expressed his preference for Classic’s capture the flag instance, Warsong Gulch, over the other battleground, Alterac Valley.

Sodapoppin voiced dissatisfaction with the amount of honor obtained through Alterac Valley, as it compelled players to exclusively play that instance, making the game tedious.

A Temporary Shift to Capture the Flag

While Sodapoppin hasn’t explicitly stated that he will abandon his quest for Classic’s top ranking, one of his guildmates, “Guzu,” mentioned during a stream that Soda recently de-ranked because he found Alterac Valley boring and chose to play capture the flag instead.

Stream Sniping Controversy Led to a Break

Sodapoppin took a break from streaming in mid-September, shortly after the release of WoW Classic, due to stream sniping players disrupting his authentic gameplay experience.

Since then, he has significantly reduced his streaming hours. Over the past three months, Soda has only streamed for 206 hours, averaging about 69 hours per month. In the first nine and a half months of the year, he streamed for 1,320 hours, averaging just under 140 hours of airtime per month.
