Channel Points on Twitch: Sodapoppin’s New Reward Feature
Twitch streamers have embraced the use of channel points to engage with their chat. One of the most popular streamers, Sodapoppin, recently introduced a unique channel point reward on his stream – the ability for viewers to mute his microphone at any time. As expected, chaos ensued.
For a cost of 250,000 channel points, this feature is expected to be a rarity. However, many viewers quickly purchased the reward and began muting Soda’s microphone one after another. Soda soon regretted his decision and asked his mods to pause the channel point rewards.
Fortunately, the viewers have toned down their use of this feature, and Soda’s stream has returned to its normal state.
In addition to the microphone mute reward, Soda also introduced a 10 million channel point reward that grants a merch coupon, allowing viewers to purchase any of his merchandise for only 20 cents. However, earning sufficient channel points for this reward is a time-consuming process that requires watching countless hours of Soda’s stream.
