Shadowlands Alpha for World of Warcraft is Now Available

The Latest World of Warcraft Expansion Alpha Now Available for Testing

The alpha version of the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands, is now available for testing. Blizzard has sent out email invitations to multiple players to participate in the alpha.

Development Updates on Shadowlands

Blizzard recently released a dev post providing updates on the current development status of Shadowlands.

Players have started downloading the alpha and logging in to explore the upcoming updates. However, the servers are currently offline. Blizzard has not provided an update on when the servers will go online. Players who have access to the alpha can download it and prepare for when the servers are up and running.

As part of the alpha, Blizzard has introduced a revamped starting experience after the level squish, reducing the maximum level to 60. Players will begin their journey on an island called Exile’s Reach, where they will face challenges before venturing into the outer world. The developer has also added new abilities through Covenant factions, which players can test. Additionally, the PvP scene may make a comeback with recent PvP Conquest Point changes.

Overall, the changes in Shadowlands look promising, and the WoW community is excited for the upcoming expansion. Here are the current features available for testing:

  • The leveling zone Bastion.
  • The level cap is 53. Characters cannot be tested above this level at the moment.
  • The dungeon being tested is The Necrotic Wake.
  • The revamped starting experience is available for all characters.

The release of the Shadowlands expansion is expected by the end of 2020. However, there might be a delay due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Blizzard has assured the community that they will provide updates regarding any possible delays for the upcoming WoW expansion.
