Dmitrij “sh1ro” Sokolow: A Rising Russian CS:GO Player

Dmitrij “sh1ro” Sokolow, a professional CS:GO player from Russia, is making a name for himself as part of the Gambit Esports team. Not only does sh1ro compete at the highest level, but he also streams on Twitch and has amassed a following of over 8,900 fans.

The Beginnings of sh1ro’s Career

sh1ro’s journey in the CS:GO scene started in 2018 when he joined the FLuffy Gangsters. Unfortunately, the team disbanded after just three months. He then moved on to another team called Vyalie Pitoni, which also broke up a few months later. However, in 2019, sh1ro found stability by joining Gambit Youngsters and eventually transitioning to the main Gambit squad in 2020.

sh1ro’s Notable Tournament Performances

As a key player for Gambit, sh1ro has participated in numerous tournaments with impressive results. Gambit Esports secured third place in the Elisa Invitational Fall 2021 and fourth place in the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, showcasing their skill and competitiveness.

sh1ro’s Streaming Setup

Let’s take a closer look at the equipment sh1ro uses for his gaming and streaming endeavors.

Headset: HyperX Cloud II

sh1ro relies on the HyperX Cloud II headset, which continues to be popular among gamers due to its comfort and high build quality.

The Cloud II features a sleek design that can pass as regular headphones when the microphone is detached. It boasts a durable aluminum headband and reasonably-sized oval ear cups with soft memory foam padding covered in leatherette for enhanced comfort.

The headset offers virtual 7.1 surround sound and a noise-canceling microphone, with volume and surround sound controls conveniently located on the inline controls.

Mouse: Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT

sh1ro opts for the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT mouse, which is known for its ultralight and agile performance. Despite its wireless connectivity, the mouse weighs a mere 63 grams.

The mouse boasts a symmetrical design with essential buttons and a scroll wheel, foregoing unnecessary RGB lighting found in other models. Its standout feature is the Logitech HERO 25K sensor, capable of 25,000 DPI and a 1,000Hz report rate, ensuring precision and accuracy.

Keyboard: Xtrfy K4 TKL

sh1ro uses the Xtrfy K4 TKL keyboard, a compact and tenkeyless (TKL) design that removes the number pad for better portability and increased space for mouse movement.

The keyboard features a metal plate construction and durable Kailh Red switches, offering a reliable performance. However, the exterior is made of plastic, and the fixed braided cable is connected to the center of the keyboard.

Mouse Pad: BenQ Zowie G-SR

sh1ro’s mouse pad of choice is the BenQ Zowie G-SR. It features a rubber base to prevent slipping and a cloth surface for smooth mouse gliding. The pad comes in two sizes: small (13.5 by 12.0 inches) and large (18.5 by 15.3 inches), both 0.4 inches thick.

Monitor: BenQ ZOWIE XL2546K

sh1ro plays on the BenQ ZOWIE XL2546K, a high refresh-rate monitor designed specifically for competitive gaming. It offers a 24.5-inch Twisted Nematic (TN) display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a one-millisecond response time.

This monitor stands out with its discrete red accents and removable shields on the sides, blocking unwanted light and reflections. The S-Switch controller provides easy access to monitor settings and profiles.

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080

sh1ro utilizes the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, which may be an older model but still delivers impressive performance. Capable of handling most games, it supports 4K resolution and ray-tracing. The RTX 2080 features 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, 2,944 CUDA cores, a memory bandwidth of 448GB/s, and a 256-bit memory interface width.
