Random person invades Shroud’s Discord, shouting racist slurs

Player Insults Streamer with Racist Slur on Discord

A random player entered Michael “shroud” Grzesiek’s Discord channel yesterday and began to spew profanity, calling the popular streamer the N-word.

The racist rant happened while shroud was streaming WoW Classic yesterday, causing the streamer to immediately mute his Discord application.

Warning: Viewer discretion is advised.

During a raid on Onyxia, a rogue player entered the call and unleashed a hateful tirade that included the N-word.

“Whoah,” shroud said. “Okay, we got a rogue in the Discord, alright. Guess I’m muting Discord.”

Shroud’s guildmates were shocked and condemned the discriminatory language, calling it “disgusting.”

When a guildmate asked shroud how streamers should handle such situations, the former CS:GO pro explained that there’s not much they can do.

“You can’t do anything, it just happens,” shroud said. “That’s why I don’t get why people do it. It’s not like they’re going to get the streamer in trouble, so why bother even doing that.”

Twitch strictly prohibits hateful conduct, as stated in its Community Guidelines. Any streamer promoting or encouraging discrimination, denigration, objectification, harassment, or violence based on race would immediately face account suspension. In shroud’s case, however, the behavior wasn’t encouraged and was stopped right away.

Shroud’s guild suspects that the culprit is likely a former guild member harboring resentment.

With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta no longer open, you can catch shroud streaming WoW Classic on his Twitch channel.
