Prime Video Spain’s Twitch channel banned for displaying NSFW content

Amazon Prime Video España Twitch Channel Banned for Intentional Nudity

The Amazon Prime Video España Twitch channel has received a ban from the platform due to a case of intentional nudity displayed during a stream. This marks the first ban for the Prime Video channel and the first ban for any Amazon-affiliated channel on Twitch.

Details of the Incident

The banned stream was supposed to air the final 2021 episode of “Esto Es Un Late,” a sponsored program featuring popular Spanish-speaking streamers. Comedian Henar Álvarez and musician Míster Jägger hosted the show, which included several guests at a Christmas dinner.

During the stream, the broadcast took an unexpected turn when Henar Álvarez threatened to flash the audience or end the show. Shortly after making this statement, the stream was abruptly cut off and ended.

Ban Announcement and Reaction

The following morning, the Streamer Bans Twitter account confirmed that the Spanish Amazon account had been banned. The duration of the ban remains unclear, but bans for nudity or sexually suggestive content can range from three days to a month for first-time offenders. Despite the nudity being visible for only a few seconds, it appears to be the reason behind the ban.

Henar Álvarez acknowledged the ban minutes after it was announced and jokingly tweeted about the Amazon ban. However, the tweet has since been deleted. Co-host Míster Jägger also expressed his support for “Esto Es Un Late,” calling it “the best show in the world” in a tweet.

Amazon’s First Ban on Twitch

As the owner of Twitch, Amazon has various initiatives like Twitch Prime and Twitch Rivals. However, this marks the first time that Amazon has been banned on its own platform. This ban serves as an example that punishments are distributed equally across Twitch, and the Prime Video España channel will remain inactive for the foreseeable future.
