Positive update for TwitchCon attendees: Paris organizers respond to protest concerns

TwitchCon Paris Confirmed to Proceed Despite Protests in France

The organizers of TwitchCon Paris have reassured attendees that ongoing protests in France will not impact the event. In an email sent on July 2, the TwitchCon Team stated that the protests are happening far from the convention venue and therefore, the convention will not be canceled. The team is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and security of staff and attendees.

Protests in France

France has been witnessing large-scale protests following reports of a teenage boy being shot dead by the police during a traffic stop. The protests have mainly taken place in Bezons, Asnières-sur-Seine, and neighboring cities, which are relatively far from the main tourist areas in Paris. The central areas of Paris remain unaffected by the protests.

About TwitchCon

TwitchCon is a biannual convention held in Europe and North America. It provides creators with an opportunity to interact with their audience through panels and meet and greets. Additionally, it allows content creators to network, plan collaborations, and have fun. This year’s TwitchCon Europe is scheduled to take place in Paris on July 8 and 9.

Call for an End to Protests

In light of the violent incidents in France, the grandmother of the killed teenager has called for the protests to stop. Tensions between protesters and the French police remain high, and President Macron is expected to meet with parliament to address the ongoing clashes.
