Imane “Pokimane” Anys did something amazing—she made sure her parents have a comfortable retirement. However, instead of being praised, she faced criticism for sharing it on social media.
Haters said that Pokimane should have kept this private.
An Act of Gratitude
At first, Pokimane tried to explain the significance of her gesture. “As an immigrant, I’ve always felt indebted to them. Now, nothing makes me happier than repaying them for their sacrifices,” she said.
But the haters twisted her words, claiming that it had nothing to do with being an immigrant.

Pokimane decided to confront her Twitch haters head-on.
“So many ignorant comments, so I’mma do a little educating here,” she said.
She shared her background, being born in Morocco and immigrating to Canada at a young age. She emphasized how her parents’ sacrifices allowed her to pursue her dreams.
If not for her parents’ sacrifices, she wouldn’t have the opportunities to become a creator.
