Pokimane Declines Gambling Sponsorships on Twitch: ‘It Would Consume Me with Guilt’

Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys Speaks Out About Twitch Gambling Sponsorships

In the midst of the ongoing controversy surrounding Twitch gambling, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys has used her Twitch channel to express her stance on the issue and address whether she would consider a gambling sponsorship.

Twitch gambling sponsorships have become a hot topic of discussion recently, and one streamer at the center of the controversy is Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel. With his high viewership numbers, a significant portion of his traffic comes from gambling streams and content. As a result, fans have been eager to try their luck with ‘the juicers’ gambling promo code.

Online gambling platforms recognize the benefits of having top-tier streamers like xQc promote their product. This exposure attracts a large amount of traffic, leading to millions of dollars being wagered by viewers.

This level of influence and impact on the platform has sparked questions from both streamers and viewers about the morality of gambling sponsorships and whether they have a place on Twitch. Some prominent streamers have called for Twitch to ban all sponsored gambling streams.

Pokimane has consistently shared her views on the matter, arguing against drawing comparisons between various vices, such as drinking and gaming addiction, to justify gambling. She believes this logic would have a negative impact on the community.

“That is such terrible logic for a productive society. If anything, it should be the other way around. We should say f**k gambling and f**k somebody’s micro-transactions that take advantage of people,” Pokimane expressed.

Pokimane has taken a firm stance on the ongoing Twitch gambling controversies from the beginning, recently discussing the temptation faced by her friends who are considering taking up gambling sponsorships if the price is right.

“I’ve had a lot of friends tell me that they have a number, right? Is it three million a month? Five? 10? Most people have a number,” the top Twitch star shared.

“I don’t have a price because if I was making five million a month, knowing that my viewers are losing 10 million (minus the rake that gambling sponsorships like Stake earn from the deal), the guilt would eat me alive—genuinely.

“Tell Stake to offer me 100 million a month. Watch me decline it,” Pokimane declared.
