Twitch Star Pokimane Cancels Appearance at TwitchCon San Diego 2022
Imane “Pokimane” Anys, a popular Twitch streamer, was set to be one of the main attractions at TwitchCon San Diego 2022. Unfortunately, due to personal issues, she will not be able to attend the event as planned.
Personal Issues Prevent Pokimane’s Attendance
In a tweet on October 6, Pokimane shared her disappointment with fans, stating that she has been sick and still doesn’t feel completely well. She encouraged her followers to visit the OfflineTV and Ebiko booths at the convention and expressed her hopes of meeting everyone at the next TwitchCon.
Concerns Regarding Pokimane’s Health
It’s unclear whether Pokimane’s recent health issues, specifically her tinnitus caused by a jaw alignment problem, are directly responsible for her inability to attend TwitchCon. However, considering the significant impact it has had on her daily life, it’s reasonable to assume that it plays a role. Dealing with this condition while constantly interacting with people would be challenging for anyone.
Many people, including fellow Twitch streamers AriaSaki, Karl Jacobs, QuarterJade, Rich Campbell, Sapnap, YourRAGE, and more, have expressed their sadness and disappointment at the news. However, they understand and sympathize with Pokimane’s situation, wishing her a speedy recovery.
Pokimane had attended TwitchCon Amsterdam in July while on a break, allowing her European fans to meet her. Unfortunately, American fans will have to wait until next year for another opportunity.
TwitchCon San Diego will still feature many other popular streamers, such as Amouranth, Hasan, KaiCenat, NICKMERCS, and xQc. So, there will still be plenty for fans, even without Pokimane’s presence.
