Twitch streamer Pokimane has been facing a wave of offensive comments on her social media platforms after popular streamer Fitz made a joke about their non-existent relationship. The negative comments originated from speculation about their dating status, which was fueled by leaked texts between Pokimane and former OfflineTV member Fedmyster.
Fitz clarified his perspective on the situation in a Reddit post, providing a timeline that aimed to position himself as the mystery person in Fedmyster’s documents. Instead of being taken as a joke, this only worsened the harassment Pokimane was receiving. Fitz also highlighted the double standard between men and women in the streaming industry, emphasizing the positive responses he received compared to the negative ones Pokimane faced.
In both Pokimane’s tweet and Fitz’s Reddit post, they emphasized that they have never been in a relationship. Regardless, Pokimane stressed that nobody should have to endure the offensive messages she has been receiving.
