Pokémon Legends: Arceus is Already Being Streamed on Twitch

Leaked Files Enable Early Streaming of Pokémon Legends: Arceus on Twitch

Prior to its official release, leaked files for Pokémon Legends: Arceus have surfaced on the internet, allowing players to stream gameplay footage on Twitch.

These leaks began after someone obtained a copy of the game before its launch from a Spanish-speaking country. While it is uncertain if the initial leaked images came from the leakers themselves, several streamers have started broadcasting what appears to be the complete game on Twitch.

As of now, a few Twitch accounts are currently live under the Pokémon Legends: Arceus category, showcasing livestreamed gameplay. Early copies of the game’s ROM have made their way onto the web, allowing for early access.

No reports have emerged thus far of any streamers receiving bans. However, some streamers have chosen to stop their broadcasts once they gain a significant number of viewers, out of fear of potential bans. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are known for their aggressive approach towards those who leak images or gameplay prior to a game’s official release.

Last June, Nintendo settled a lawsuit demanding damages from two individuals who shared images from an unreleased strategy guide for Pokémon Sword and Shield. Both leakers had to pay $150,000 in damages, and it was later discovered that one of them was employed by the company responsible for printing the strategy guide and had shared the images with the second defendant.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is scheduled to be released on January 28th. It introduces new Pokémon forms and features a unique gameplay style distinct from the main-series games.
