‘Not part of our team’: Asmongold criticizes fans blaming alleged victim following Rich Campbell’s OTK departure

Asmongold Addresses Sexual Assault Allegations Against OTK Co-Founder Rich Campbell

Asmongold, the popular Twitch streamer, took to his main channel today to discuss the sexual assault allegations made against One True King (OTK) co-founder Rich Campbell by a woman.

Following the allegations, Asmongold’s content creation team requested Campbell’s resignation. Although Campbell complied with OTK’s request, Asmongold felt it was necessary to express his support for the alleged victim.

“I’m still shaken by this, but I believe it’s important for me to directly address the situation,” Asmongold stated.

Not only was Asmongold a co-founder of OTK with Campbell back in October 2020, but the two have also been close friends for several years. They host a weekly live-streamed podcast called “Allcraft,” focusing on World of Warcraft.

While Asmongold appeared deeply upset about the possibility of someone close to him being involved in such acts, he wanted to emphasize that people who blame the alleged victim on social media will not be tolerated.

“You are not part of our team. You are not helping us. Calling the girl a liar doesn’t benefit anyone. I’ve read comments on Twitter, and many say she’s making it up. Please refrain from doing that. You are not our fan. We stand with the alleged victim, and that’s why Rich is no longer with us,” Asmongold stated.

Asmongold also took a moment to address the notion that this situation may be seen as “drama” for content purposes. He made it clear that this is a serious matter, not manufactured theatrics often found on Twitch.

“This is not drama. This is not about getting canceled. These are crimes. It’s as serious as it gets, and I took action as soon as possible,” Asmongold emphasized.

Asmongold admitted to grappling with the reality of the situation. He questioned his own interactions with Campbell, wondering if there were signs he missed that could have potentially prevented the alleged assault.

“In a situation like this, you go through every message, every interaction. You always wonder if there was something you should have known or observed. There are many thoughts going through my mind,” Asmongold shared.
