Ninja begins streaming on YouTube

The Wait is Over: Ninja Goes Live on YouTube

Ninja, the popular Fortnite star, has finally made his debut on YouTube. He recently announced his first stream on the platform, which started at 12pm CT today. Currently, he has over 130,000 viewers. While Ninja is in negotiations with multiple platforms, he has not signed exclusively with any, as reported by esports journalist Rod “Slasher” Breslau.

Excitement on Social Media

Upon going live, Ninja posted a link to his YouTube channel on Twitter, declaring that it’s his “FIRST YOUTUBE STREAM EVER” and showing his excitement. The link can be found here.

From Mixer to YouTube

Ninja became a free agent after Mixer shut down last month. Despite having the option to negotiate with Facebook Gaming, he chose not to. Ninja originally left Twitch due to licensing issues, with hopes that Mixer would provide a better platform for his brand. However, less than a year later, he received a significant payout of $30 million and the opportunity to rebuild his massive following on a new platform.

The Move to YouTube

Rumors of Ninja’s move to YouTube began when he accidentally streamed a “test” broadcast on his channel. Although it was quickly made private, many fans suspected it was intentional. The broadcast had no thumbnail, title, or updated description. Now, Ninja has officially made his move to YouTube.

Shroud’s Future Streaming Platform

Another popular streamer, Shroud, who was previously lured away from Twitch by Mixer, is also in the process of finding a new streaming platform. With Mixer shutting down, Shroud has plenty of options to choose from. Although he has no animosity towards Twitch, YouTube may try to entice him with a compelling offer.
