Nightblue3, Mendo, and GrandPooBear face Twitch bans after stream snipe incident during Twitch Rivals stream with xQc

Twitch Streamers Nightblue3, Mendo, and GrandPooBear Banned from Twitch Rivals GlitchCon for Breaking Code of Conduct

Today, Twitch streamers Nightblue3, Mendo, and GrandPooBear have been banned from participating in Twitch Rivals GlitchCon’s tournament. They violated the code of conduct, joining former Overwatch pro xQc who was suspended yesterday. As a result, they face channel bans, a six-month ban from Twitch Rivals, and the loss of prize winnings. Twitch Rivals announced the punishment on their Twitter account, stating that the streamers were involved in stream sniping and attempting to manipulate the gameplay of the opposing team.

XQc and Other Streamers Face Disciplinary Action

The Twitch Rivals Twitter account reported that besides xQcOW, Nightblue3, Mendo, GrandPooBear, and Tfue also violated the tournament’s conduct rules. Consequently, Twitch Rivals will take disciplinary action against them. Additionally, all the streamers, except Tfue, will face temporary suspensions from Twitch.

Reasons Behind the Bans

XQc admitted to openly stream sniping during the tournament, claiming it was a joke. However, he later apologized, acknowledging that his actions were wrong, especially considering the cash prize at stake. Nightblue3 responded similarly, stating that they were only trying to entertain their audience.

XQc stated on Twitter that his ban will last seven days. NightBlue3 and GrandPooBear confirmed today that they will also be suspended for a week. While Mendo has not made any statements yet, it is likely he will face the same duration of suspension.

Tfue Escapes Channel Suspension but Loses Prize Winnings

Fortnite star Tfue, a member of Team GOATS, will not have his channel suspended. However, he will lose the prize winnings for being aware of the stream sniping and failing to inform the tournament admins.

History of Suspensions

This is the first ban for Nightblue3, Mendo, and GrandPooBear on Twitch. However, xQc has been suspended three times previously for accidentally displaying nudity on stream and for watching a viewer-sent video of gorillas engaging in sexual activity.
