NICKMERCS hosts sponsored stream to promote Hyper Scape battle pass

Ubisoft’s Hyper Scape Battle Pass Season Kicks Off with Streamer Support

Yesterday, Ubisoft launched the first battle pass season for their new battle royale game, Hyper Scape. To promote the game, they enlisted popular streamer NICKMERCS and others to help spread the word.

Interestingly, NICKMERCS had not played the game before, which means his audience had yet to be exposed to the game. This presented a unique opportunity for Ubisoft to reach new consumers.

During his #ad stream, Nick played the game for nearly three hours. He averaged 36,655 viewers and reached a peak of over 57,000 viewers. In total, the stream accumulated 73,310 hours watched, according to Twitch stat tracker SullyGnome.

While these viewership figures were lower than Nick’s average for the past week (62,461), Ubisoft’s decision to tap into an untapped audience for Hyper Scape could still prove to be a worthwhile investment.

In addition to NICKMERCS, other streamers like SypherPK also ran sponsored streams for Hyper Scape. However, their average viewership during the play session was below their average for the past week. SypherPK had 2,673 viewers compared to his usual 3,619.

Hyper Scape initially gained attention on Twitch through top content creators like Tfue and xQC who played the game during testing. This was followed by a Twitch Rivals event featuring numerous popular streamers.

In a similar approach to Riot Games, Ubisoft gave Twitch viewers access to the game’s testing phase by watching streamers play. With the start of the battle pass season, Hyper Scape has also partnered with Twitch and Prime Gaming to reward viewers with the battle pass experience.
