Nickmercs alleges that gambling on Kick is a contractual obligation, Kick executive refutes claim

NICKMERCS Raises Concerns with Gambling Streams Outside of His Usual Broadcasting

Popular streamer NICKMERCS has sparked speculation about his contract after announcing that he will be streaming gambling content on Kick from a different location. In a viral clip shared on social media, NICKMERCS mentioned that doing gambling streams is “part of the contract,” although he didn’t specifically mention which contract he was referring to.

Controversy Surrounding the Situation

Many creators expressed concerns about a platform contract that would require someone to gamble on stream. Ludwig, summing up the situation with one word, replied to a Dexerto tweet about the news, calling it “concerning.”

Kick Responds to Misinformation

Kick’s head of strategic partnerships, Andrew Santamaria, quickly clarified that there is no gambling clause in the Kick contract. His response aimed to address the influx of misinformation circulating about NICKMERCS’ clip.

Uncertainty around the Contract

Streaming news aggregator Jake Lucky suggested that the contract NICKMERCS referred to might be with Stake, an online casino associated with Kick. Although it’s unclear which contract NICKMERCS was discussing, he did mention that he will need to stream from outside the US and won’t be doing these streams regularly.

This development is significant because Kick was established as an alternative platform for gambling content after Twitch banned certain online casinos, including Stake, due to rule changes. With its different regulations, Kick became the go-to platform for gambling streams.
