Myth and Cherdleys showed little interest in chess during the Mogul Chessboxing Championship

YouTuber Myth Takes on Comedy Skit Creator Cherdleys in Chessboxing Championship

YouTuber Myth faced off against comedy skit creator Cherdleys during Ludwig’s Mogul Chessboxing Championship. The match turned out to be quite one-dimensional.

While chessboxing requires a balance between chess strategy and boxing skills, it was evident from the beginning that both Myth and Cherdleys were focused on one thing only—punching each other in the face.

Chess Round: Mistakes Galore

During the first round of chess, it seemed like Cherdleys had no clue what he was doing. He made careless moves, gave up pieces easily, and wasted a lot of his limited time. Myth wasn’t brilliant either, but it became a battle to see who could make fewer mistakes.

After the first chess round, Ludwig commented, “It does appear to me that Cherdleys is trolling. Myth is not trolling. He’s just not very good.”

Boxing Round: Reckless Punishment

Once the boxing started, it became clear what each competitor had trained for. With short 90-second rounds, both fighters fearlessly let their guards down to relentlessly dish out punishment.

Myth seemed to have the upper hand throughout the boxing portion, but Cherdleys showed he could hold his own and fight back.

Anticlimactic Chess Rounds

Whenever the fighters returned to the chess board, it was almost anticlimactic. Ludwig criticized their chess skills, comparing the game to “watching toddlers put square shapes in round holes.”

As the match neared its end, Cherdleys lost on time during the final chess portion, leading to a disappointing conclusion. The commentators agreed that a rematch should happen soon, but maybe next time they should skip the chess and focus on boxing.
