Mum’s the Word: Dr Disrespect’s Silence on DEADROP on YouTube

Why Dr Disrespect Isn’t Talking about His Upcoming Game, DEADROP

Members of the Champions Club might be wondering why Dr Disrespect hasn’t been promoting his upcoming game, DEADROP, during his YouTube streams. Considering the time and resources he’s invested in its development, it’s a valid question. However, there’s a reasonable answer.

A Surprising Reason

During his YouTube stream on Oct. 15, Dr Disrespect revealed why he hasn’t been talking about DEADROP. He explained that his stream isn’t the place for marketing the game.

“Let’s let the marketing team let it unfold,” he said. “I can talk about it in every stream if you want me to, but sometimes it’s kind of fun to just let this one slide under a little bit and keep it as a surprise. I can’t say anything.”

The top YouTube streamer further stated, “We’ve got to have some surprises for you so that the marketing guys can do their thing and have some fun, you know?”

A Peek into Its Development

Even though he wanted to keep it a surprise, Dr Disrespect didn’t want to disappoint fans who were still hoping for an update, especially since the next reveal was delayed. So, he briefly touched on the game’s development.

“What I will say is that we’re starting to make the transition into, like, I guess what you could say is a real FPS experience from a movement standpoint,” Dr Disrespect shared. “What I mean by real is that we had the most basic bare-bone template, sort of the first pass on movement, right?

“Now we’re really starting to kind of take that to the next level.”

In addition, the Doc mentioned that they’re working on foundational aspects of the game, making it more polished, and refining the time-to-kill, which will be set to a low value.

Anticipation Builds

DEADROP is still in the early stages of development, so an official release date hasn’t been confirmed. Nonetheless, the vertical extraction shooter is generating hype, even if Dr Disrespect doesn’t mention it frequently on his stream.
