Özil’s Familiarity with Esports

Özil is no stranger to video games and the esports scene. In August, the 29-year-old announced his plans to establish his own esports organization, initially focused on FIFA esports. However, given his current interest in streaming Fortnite, it is possible that Özil might expand his focus to the broader esports scene.

Özil Joins Other Athletes in the Gaming Community

Özil joins the growing number of professional athletes who have ventured into the gaming world. Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward is confident in his Fortnite skills and challenges other athletes to compete against him. Additionally, UMG is planning to host official Fortnite competitions for both current and retired MLB players.

A Future in Streaming?

Could Özil’s streaming career extend beyond his professional soccer days? Only time will tell if he pursues a streaming career once he retires from soccer.
