LeafyIsHere Permanently Banned on Twitch for Violating Multiple Rules
Popular commentary and drama YouTuber Calvin “LeafyIsHere” Vail has been permanently banned from Twitch. This comes just two weeks after he moved to the platform following his ban on another platform.
Twitch banned Leafy’s channel due to multiple rule violations, according to esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau. His conduct on the platform was deemed inappropriate and posed a risk to the Twitch community.
According to a Twitch spokesperson who spoke to Slasher, their top priority is the safety of the community. They reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate rules, are inappropriate, harmful, or put the community at risk.
Leafy’s ban doesn’t come as a surprise considering the content and language he used during his streams. He even used racial slurs in response to a clip from streamer Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker.
Leafy also made death threats against individuals who flagged and reported his YouTube channel and Twitter account. In a livestream, he expressed his intention to “snap” on someone who provided confirmation of reporting him.
Leafy claims that he received no prior warning before his channel was banned, even though the email from Twitch stated that it was due to engaging in hateful conduct and threats of violence toward a person or group of people.
Leafy’s YouTube channel was already terminated on August 21 for repeated violations of harassment policies, despite not having any strikes listed against his channel.
