Twitch Streamer Jenna Faces Backlash for Offensive Comments in Discord Chat
Jenna, a popular Twitch streamer, is facing significant backlash after chat logs from her Discord server were leaked, revealing racist, sexist, and homophobic remarks.
A recent post on the LivestreamFail subreddit included screenshots of the offensive comments made by Jenna in her Discord channel. These comments, which date back several years, show a pattern of offensive language towards race, sexuality, gender, and the mentally handicapped. To further authenticate the chat logs, a video was also shared, demonstrating the user searching for Jenna’s comments in the Discord channel.
Jenna became aware of the leak during a livestream, as chat viewers started questioning her about the comments and her Discord channel. Upon visiting the subreddit, she discovered the content that everyone was referring to.
Jenna faced criticism for her response to the leaked logs, as many felt that she played the victim instead of taking full responsibility and apologizing for her remarks.
While Jenna claimed she doesn’t remember making those comments and that they don’t reflect who she is, some viewers argued that the remarks cannot be excused and that her apologies seemed insincere. Others pointed out that some of the comments were from several years ago, suggesting that people can change over time. Some also accused Jenna of apologizing only out of fear of losing her partnerships, to which she responded that she would accept the consequences if her partnerships were indeed terminated.
This incident is not the first time Jenna has faced criticism recently. Earlier this month, she admitted to using her status as a streamer to convince a man to kiss her, which some viewers deemed as sexual assault. She later discussed the situation in more detail during a conversation with fellow Twitch streamer Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker and even had the alleged victim join the stream to share his perspective.
With over 260,000 followers and almost 1,000 subscribers, Jenna is a popular Canadian streamer known for streaming games like Runescape and World of Warcraft.
