Japanese Virtual YouTubers Discover a Novel Method of Avoiding Adult Content Restrictions while Enjoying Splatoon 3

The Dark Side of Splatoon 3: How Japanese VTubers and Chroma Key Technology are Corrupting the Game

The internet is a unique place that has its fair share of both wholesome content and explicit material. Unfortunately, Splatoon 3 has recently become a victim of the latter, thanks to the influence of Japanese VTubers and chroma key technology.

A viral tweet has shed light on how some Japanese Splatoon players are using chroma key technology to turn the enemy team’s colors into a green screen. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t be an issue. However, the VTubers have taken it a step further by displaying explicit content on the green screen, turning each game into a battle to cover the enemy’s color and hide the inappropriate material.

A Disturbing Video that Should Not be Viewed at Work

The motive behind this disturbing trend seems to be the VTubers challenging themselves in Splatoon 3, with the risk of getting banned if they perform poorly. Nintendo, however, did not take this lightly. The developer issued a tweet warning players about misusing the game in such a way.

In response to this misuse, Nintendo made it clear that actions that violate public order and morals, intentionally mislead the rules of the game, significantly damage the value of the game or its characters and world, or encourage and take advantage of such actions will not be tolerated. They warned that such content would be deleted and legal action may be taken against the users involved.

This means that anyone who uses the game in a way that Nintendo deems as violating “public order and morals” will face consequences. The translated version of Nintendo’s tweet ominously concludes with a warning to players: “Please be careful.” It is evident that Nintendo is determined to uphold the child-friendly nature of its game.
