IShowSpeed Recovers from Eye Infection, Avoids Surgery
Popular YouTuber IShowSpeed is on the road to recovery after being hospitalized for a bacterial eye infection during his visit to Tokyo. He experienced severe pain and swelling in his right eye, making it difficult for him to eat or sleep.
Initial Update and Worsening Condition
In a Snapchat story on July 29, IShowSpeed shared the details of his painful experience, describing it as one of the worst he’s ever had. He later posted another update on July 30 showing the sizeable swelling of his eye, wearing an eye patch and a head bandage.
Surgery Averted, Positive Turn
IShowSpeed’s condition worsened, and he ended up in a hospital bed. However, an MRI scan revealed that the swelling and pain were caused by bacteria and inflammation on his eyelid, rather than his eye itself. Thankfully, surgery was not required. If the bacteria had spread behind his eye, there would have been a risk of permanent vision loss.
Recovery and Streaming Plans
After receiving medication for his eye, IShowSpeed was discharged from the hospital. He was instructed to recover in his hotel room, with a final check-up scheduled for the following day. Upon returning to the hospital, the doctors advised him to stay for monitoring until he is fit to return home. Despite this, IShowSpeed plans to continue streaming from his laptop.
