Ironmouse ridicules NFTs during her experience at an online art auction labeled as ‘metaversey’

Ironmouse Reacts to NFT Art Gallery Stream

Ironmouse, a popular VTuber, recently expressed her thoughts on the increasing presence of NFTs in the gaming community. During a livestream, she watched a virtual art gallery featuring NFT artwork by Ken “Anchorball” Kelleher. The host and guest discussed the concept of the gallery existing within the metaverse.

Ironmouse’s Dramatic Reaction

As soon as Ironmouse learned that it was an NFT art gallery, she couldn’t help but cry out in agony. Her frustration peaked when Spatial Co-Founder Anand Agarawala mentioned a “pixelated dog” art piece, stating that it couldn’t get more “metaversey” than that.

Ironmouse expressed her confusion and disbelief at the repetitive use of the term “metaverse” and the significance of a pixelated dog. She questioned the meaning behind these statements.

Ironmouse’s Mockery of NFTs

Ironmouse went on to mock the NFT itself, which appeared to be a simple pink pixelated dog against a plain background reminiscent of an old Nintendo 64 game. She sarcastically highlighted the absurdity of paying $2 million for such artwork.

Streamers’ Criticism of NFTs

Ironmouse is not the only content creator to criticize NFTs. World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold has been vocal about his disdain for NFTs, stating that he feels no sympathy for people who lose money on them because they are essentially “betting on nothing.”

XQc and Pokimane have also mocked NFTs, with XQc even turning down a multi-million dollar NFT sponsorship. Pokimane went on to call influencers who jumped on the NFT bandwagon “cringe.”
