Ironmouse faces backlash with a surge of hate comments following Quin69 VTuber rant

VTuber Ironmouse Receives Hateful Comments After Controversial Clip

During a recent stream, VTuber Ironmouse revealed that she had been facing a barrage of hate from viewers following a critique of VTubers by an unnamed person. It is speculated that she is referring to Quin69, a streamer whose clip expressing his dislike for the avatar-based streaming trend went viral.

Quin69 Criticizes VTubers in Popular Twitch Clip

In a widely viewed Twitch clip titled “Quincel strikes agane,” Quin69 shares his opinions on the appearance and voices of VTubers. He also criticizes them for forming one-sided relationships with their viewers.

Controversial Remarks Draw Backlash

Quin69’s remarks in the clip sparked a surge of negative comments towards VTubers. The New Zealand-based streamer’s comments about VTubers pretending to be younger and creating parasocial relationships with viewers didn’t sit well with many.

Asmongold Joins the Discussion

Well-known MMO streamer Asmongold also chimed in, expressing his discomfort with VTubers who pretend to be younger than they actually are. He suggests that the gaming and VTubing landscape would be better off without such practices.

Quin69’s clip quickly gained attention on the LivestreamFail subreddit, leading to an influx of hateful comments targeting Ironmouse. She has reported an increase in mean-spirited messages in her stream.

Ironmouse attributes the surge in negativity to someone’s rant about VTubers, which she believes triggered the influx of hateful comments in her chat.

In response to the controversy, Quin69 streamed using a VTuber avatar of his own. He clarifies that the hate directed towards VTubers wasn’t a result of his viewers brigading them, but rather the clip finding its way onto the LivestreamFail subreddit. He also emphasizes that the rant in the clip was not meant to be taken seriously and that his fans would have recognized it as such.

While Quin69 denies any responsibility for the hate directed at Ironmouse, it is worth noting that Twitch has seen an increase in hate raids targeting various streamers, including those from the LGBTQIA+ community.
